Highlights of Saigon and the Magic Mekong Delta

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City Orientation (L, G)

Arriving in Saigon or Nha Rong Port, you’ll be greeted by our guide. You’ll then visit some sites in the city centre. You’ll visit the Reunification Hall – an early colonial masterpiece constructed to accommodate the Governor – general of Indochina. The Centre Post office and the huge Ben Thanh market, one of the liveliest areas of Ho Chi Minh City, is packed with every conceivable commodity. You’ll call in the Sea Goddess Pagoda (Thien Hau Pagoda), one of the largest temples in city dedicated to both Buddha and Sea Goddess. You’ll then visit to a lacquer workshop to see the complex processes and meticulous workmanship involved in this traditional Vietnamese craft product. You will finish your day with a free time for drink at the Roof top bar in Rex Hotel. After that, your guide will take you back to the ship or your hotel for overnight accommodation.

Day 2: The Magic Mekong Delta (L, G)

Pick up at the port (or your hotel), you’ll be driven to Vinh Long in the Mekong Delta. There, you’ll cruise on the Mekong River, visit Cai Be floating market, fruit orchards, a traditional family-run brick kiln, and drop in to look at some traditional cottage industries like sweet popcorn, coconut candy, the huge coffins making factory…After lunch in a fruit orchard, you will enjoy a traditional folk song named ‘Don Ca Tai Tu’. In the afternoon, you’ll be driven back to Ho Chi Minh City, then to the port for your cruising. Tour ends.
