Starting with the less-visited 4,000 Island in Southern Laos, you will visit the Done Khone and its unspoiled surrounding. The next visit is Pakse, the largest town in Champasak Province and Boloven Plateau, the most beautiful scenery in Southern Laos which is famous for its coffee plantation. The rest of this tour is fulfill with must-see sites in Vientiane and Luang Prabang

Day 1: Pakse arrival/Done Khone (4000 Islands) (D, G)

Arriving in Pakse airport, you will be met and transferred directly onto a traditional boat for a 2-hour cruise to Champassak. Disembark at this ancient town, you will continue by car to Wat Phou, another World Heritage Site in Laos, which became recognized by UNESCO in 2002. In the afternoon you will drive to Don Khone, an area of 4000 islands which is famous for being the home to the endangered Irrawaddy dolphins. En route, you will stop by the ruins of the Khmer temple of Oup Mong at Ban Houei Tomo and continue driving to Don Khone Island at Ban Nakasung pier to board a long tailed motor boat to the peaceful Don Khone Island where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Done Khone/Phou Asa/Pakse (B, L, D, G)

After an early morning breakfast, you will visit the French colonial-past at Ban Khone, where some old colonial houses still stand and glimpse the first Lao railway with its own locomotive. You will continue explore the area of the 4000 islands leisurely by boat and visit the most beautiful Liphi waterfall. With lucks, you may see the rare freshwater Irrawaddy Mekong dolphin at Ban Hang Khone. You will then return to Ban Nakasang and drive to the famous waterfall of Khone Phapeng – the largest waterfall in South East Asia, also known as the ‘Niagara of the east’.

In the afternoon, you will drive to Pakse and on the way stop in Phou Asa to visit the vestiges of the temple dating back to the 18th century before reaching your hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Pakse/Saravanh/Boloven/Tadlo (B, L, D, G)

After breakfast, you will drive to Tadlo via the plateau of Boloven, where tea and coffee plantations produce the infamous Lao coffee. You wil have the chance to observe the traditional coffee and tea makers. En route, you will visit the ethnic villages of Ban Tateng to experience the traditional lifestyles of the Alack, Katu and Nge tribes before reaching the charming village of Tadlo where you will be transferred to the Tadlo resort. You will enjoy swimming in the pool of the Tadlo waterfall which is situated close to the resort.

Day 4: Tadlo/Pakse/Vientiane (B, G)

This morning, you will board a short flight to Vientiane where you will be greeted on arrival. After checking at hotel, you will visit the sacred Wat Sisaket the oldest temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, you will stop to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. You will spend the night in Vientiane.

Day 5: Vientiane/Luang Prabang (B, G)

You will be free until your car takes you to the airport for a noon flight to Luang Prabang. After a short rest, you will visit Wat Visoun, the site of the impressive Thad Makmo stupa. The Phousi hill which offer an impressive views of the surrounding area. You will then visit Wat Mai and the Street Night Market, where you will find a lovely collection of local handmade textiles of the hill tribes surrounding Luang Prabang. You will spend the night in a hotel.

Day 6: Luang Prabang/Kuangsi Waterfall/Luang Prabang (B, L, G)

This is the morning when you need your alarm clock! Early in the morning after a sustaining beverage and a small snack, you’ll witness one of Laos’ unique ceremonies – the daily ‘alms giving’ ritual of saffron-clad monks walking in a long line holding black bowls to receive offerings from local people. The traditional gift is a handful of ‘sticky rice’, but nowadays money is equally acceptable.

You’ll then return to your hotel for a proper breakfast. Afterwards, you’ll be driven to the Kuangsi Waterfalls, a serene beauty spot where you can splash around in the pools or stroll the forest paths. You will also visit Ban Phanom, a well-known weaving village. You will spend the night in Luang Prabang.

Day 7: Luang Prabang departure (B, G)

Free time until transferred to the airport for departure flight. Tour ends.
