In the North people prefer sour taste or try to keep the nature flavor from the food it self. In the middle people start adding some sugar and chili to food when cooking. In the South, especially people in Mekong river delta they use lots of sugar to cook their food. Therefore, when coming to restaurants to those three parts you should be ready to try local food or ask them to cook as you like or to eat in Western food restaurants.

2/ Ha Long bay restaurants: this is a small city and most restaurants locate on Bay Chay street - along the beach, which are easy to find. Here they specialize in fresh sea food. However, there are some restaurants can offer western food: Phuong Vy restaurant, Hong Kong restaurant, Lan Huong restaurant. This is a very touristy town so when you order food need to check price on menu or come to a compromise before ordering food
